
Professor Nor Faridah Abdul Manaf was the former Deputy Rector of
Internationalisation and Global Network at International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM).
She has been teaching English Literature at International Islamic University
Malaysia (IIUM) for 32 years. She is widely published in the areas of English Literature, Islam and has
written articles on environment in local newspapers. Prof Faridah is also Vice President of IMAN (an NGO of
Muslim Women Professionals).
Prof Faridah is also active in interfaith and cross-cultural relations and has
been involved in organising conferences in this area. She has also organised and co-organised
environment-related events both at IIUM where she teaches (World Environment Day, River Project, Earth Hour,
etc) and in Kota Damansara where she lives.
Professor Faridah is a Fulbright Scholar at Cornell University,
New York in 2007 and Mevlana Visiting Scholar at Selcuk University in Konya, Turkey in 2018. She is also a
published bilingual creative writer who has won some writing awards in Malaysia. Her poetry books, The Art of Naming: A Muslim Woman's Journey and Travel Poetry were published
in 2006 and 2019 respectively. She is now working on completing a history novel on the Rawas.
